Here's another great photo by Lethbridge photographer Danny Ponomar, which is about to grace my wall at home.

In Canada, Tim Horton’s has replaced the neighbourhood pub…
At least there’s less slurring (except for the guy who had a stroke):
Whose cuisine reigns supreme?
Remember my friend, World Culinary Olympian Iron Chef Doug? He's still winning big-time, and is featured in January's issue of Lethbridge Living:
Whipping Up a Win
There were only two gold medals awarded at the 2012 World Culinary Olympics. One of those medals went to Culinary Team Alberta, the youngest team our province has ever sent to the event. Local Chefs Doug Overes and Tyler Ivey are members of that gold medal-team.
Bonus: The photo work was done by my buddy Glenn at PureMojo Studios. He even shot me once upon a time, before I lost my fingers trying to cook.
Base jumping from the High Level Bridge; the ballsiest stunt we’ve seen in awhile
Old news to some, but here's a news report about Johnny Korthuis's base jump from the Lethbridge Viaduct (aka High Level Bridge):
Dude got charged with trespassing, which satisfies me since I know someone who knows someone else who jumped off the bridge, but forgot their parachute. The video is now private on YouTube, but if you still need something to make your palms sweat, watch this:

Movember Moustache Mitten contest wrap-up
Now that Movember has passed, I want to give big thanks to everyone who helped with my fundraising efforts! Personally, I raised $625 dollars! Cumulatively the LCSA team raised $2909 big ones. And we were treated to a complimentary hot shave by Tommy Guns (gentlemen, seriously treat yourselves to this).
So may I present Peter Joosten, owner of Euro Physical Therapy, as the winner of my Movember Moustache Mitten contest, sponsored by Edit : Stylish & Sustainable Accessories:

Also, @TRajcic27 won the pair of tickets for my Gala Parté contest. Congrats to you both!
Quickie: Facebook moved my cheese
I hate to be that guy that goes, "ERMAHGERD Facebook changed [insert trivial thing here]" but this time it's actually kind of relevant.

Highway 3 Roots Revue returns at The Slice
My brudda Leeroy Stagger returns with Dave McCann and John Wort Hannam for their fifth annual Highway 3 tour, December 9th at The Slice:
Three Alberta songwriters come together each winter to tour as Highway 3. They leave their bands at home and tour their songs in the stripped down, bare bones style in which they were written. This is a chance to catch these artists in an intimate setting where they present their music in the spirit in which it was written, guitar, and voice.

Asian Supermarket’s “Food Story”
One of my favourite grocery stores in the city is the family-owned Asian Supermarket. Patricia sent a shot-out on Twitter about a unique community-oriented idea they came up with: Food Story!
What would it be like, if all the little goodies, that we create in our lovely kitchen, could be shared with others? What if the scrumptuous homemade pralines, marmelade, cupcakes, or spicemix were to be remarkably decoratively packed for a trip, a few kilometers away, so that it would create happiness for someone?!
Our thoughts: It would be amazing!
And by paying it forward, by sharing with others, we, at the Asian Supermarket World Foods and Imports, want to create and foster this happiness: The idea to share and to connect us!
Their first theme is "Chocolate Happiness," beginning in the new year. Registration for participants is open until December 16th. Check out their blog for full details!

Movember events around the city
Here's a round-up of the Movember events (that I've come across) happening in the city. Also, don't forget that there's still a few days left to enter my Movember Moustache Mitten contest, as well as a chance to win a pair of Gala Parté tickets.
