Quickie: Facebook moved my cheese

I hate to be that guy that goes, "ERMAHGERD Facebook changed [insert trivial thing here]" but this time it's actually kind of relevant.

Highway 3 Roots Revue returns at The Slice

My brudda Leeroy Stagger returns with Dave McCann and John Wort Hannam for their fifth annual Highway 3 tour, December 9th at The Slice:

Three Alberta songwriters come together each winter to tour as Highway 3. They leave their bands at home and tour their songs in the stripped down, bare bones style in which they were written. This is a chance to catch these artists in an intimate setting where they present their music in the spirit in which it was written, guitar, and voice.
Check out their Facebook event page.

Asian Supermarket’s “Food Story”

One of my favourite grocery stores in the city is the family-owned Asian Supermarket. Patricia sent a shot-out on Twitter about a unique community-oriented idea they came up with: Food Story!

What would it be like, if all the little goodies, that we create in our lovely kitchen, could be shared with others? What if the scrumptuous homemade pralines, marmelade, cupcakes, or spicemix were to be remarkably decoratively packed for a trip, a few kilometers away, so that it would create happiness for someone?!

Our thoughts: It would be amazing!

And by paying it forward, by sharing with others, we, at the Asian Supermarket World Foods and Imports, want to create and foster this happiness: The idea to share and to connect us!

Their first theme is "Chocolate Happiness," beginning in the new year. Registration for participants is open until December 16th. Check out their blog for full details!

Movember events around the city

Here's a round-up of the Movember events (that I've come across) happening in the city. Also, don't forget that there's still a few days left to enter my Movember Moustache Mitten contest, as well as a chance to win a pair of Gala Parté tickets.

3x8x10 Contemporary Art Raffle happening this Friday at the SAAG

I came across this ditty today:

Please join us for our annual fundraiser this November 30, 2012. Tickets are $35, or 3 for $90.
Every ticket is a winner!

The way it works…

Purchase a ticket through one of our board members via email to info@trapdoorarc.com.
Every ticket will guarantee you a single work. Each ticket is numbered.
During the raffle, numbers will be drawn at random.
When your number is picked you will select a work of art to take home.
The works available have been selected from local, national, and international.
Multiple tickets can be purchased.
Make sure to come early and scope out the works that catch your eye!

The works will be ready for your viewing pleasure at the Southern Alberta Art Gallery from November 26-30.

CONTEST! Win tickets to the Movember Gala Parté in Calgary.

That's right, another contest. This time I'm giving away 2 tickets to the Movember Gala Parté!

The wrap-up party will feature live shows, prizes and general moustache mania. It's being held on November 30, 8PM at Cowboys in Calgary, so tell your fellow Calgarians about this too.

All you have to do to enter is comment on this post, or send a shot out on Facebook or Twitter, and you're entered to win. I will email the winner e-tickets on the 29th.

And if you haven't checked out my Movember Moustache Mitten contest, check it out here. Together, we've raised $1200!

UPDATE: @TRajcic27 won the tickets. Enjoy the party!

Movember Moustache Mitten contest update #2. Only 5 days left!

Not including my collection box, I've so far raised $395 for Movember Canada! Thank you to all who have donated; you're helping support prostate cancer research and mens mental health.

For those just finding out, I'm also holding a Movember Moustache Mitten contest. Details of the contest are here.

If you haven't donated yet and would like to win a sweet pair of EDIT Moustache Mittens, not to mention helping out a good cause, head on over my Mospace! I'm part of the Lethbridge College Students Association team, and collectively we have raised over $1010.

Flashback: What’s Lethbian Love?

In my younger days, The Lethbridge Sun TImes interviewed me about this ol' blog of mine. What is "Lethbian Love"? If the sidebar isn't enough to go by, check out this article and see what I looked like when I still had hair and a smile on my face:

Flashback: What’s a Lethbian?!

Back in the golden age of radio, I was interviewed by CBC Radio One's David Gray on "The Homestretch," to finally settle who or what a "Lethbian" is. They've since taken down the post, but being crafty I saved a MP3 of the interview!
